Westbourne Homes is looking for a creative and highly organised interior design assistant to be part of its team in Berkshire, UK.

The ideal candidate would have one to two years’ experience within a professional setting (ideally high end). Day-to-day reporting will be to the head of design but duties will also extend to general studio.

Required skills and experience:

experience with working on both interior architectural and FF&E projects to help across both spec teams
proficient in AutoCAD, EstiPC and Microsoft Office
knowledge of FF&E, fabrics, materials and suppliers
ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
support the whole team with a positive attitude and approach their work with care and attention
strong organisational and time keeping skills
excellent written and verbal communication skills
full UK driving licence

Desirable skills:

3D skills in SketchUp/free hand sketching
Photoshop

The candidate will be responsible for general design duties, including but not limited to:

producing and maintaining technical documentation that clearly communicates our design to both our clients and our construction teams, including specification documents and detailed drawings
procurement including pricing, estimating, ordering, establishing lead times and chasing deliveries
attending site visits and client meetings and producing accurate and detailed meeting minutes
preparing documents and ordering materials for meetings
assisting on installations as required
maintaining the tidy appearance of client meeting areas and fabric library
day to day tasks such as answering calls in a polite and professional manner and welcoming clients by providing refreshments
