Position Summary | The University of North Carolina Asheville Department of New Media invites applications for a full-time (9-month) Lecturer in Animation and 3D Digital Modeling, to begin Fall 2025. The UNC Asheville New Media Department recognizes animation’s vast and evolving nature, encompassing traditional hand-drawn, stop-motion, 3D, experimental, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and AI-assisted techniques. As part of the Division of Natural Sciences, we embrace interdisciplinary exploration, blending old and new technologies to push creative boundaries. We seek a dynamic teacher-scholar with a strong record in animation who can inspire students through skill-building, experimentation, and mentorship. The ideal candidate will stimulate innovation across all levels, encouraging students to explore and redefine animation’s possibilities.
