Studiopepe is looking for a talented and experienced senior product designer to join our expanding product team in Milan, Italy.

What you’ll do

As part of our multidisciplinary design team, you will play a key role in developing bespoke furniture, lighting, and objects for international clients and collections. You will contribute to projects that are rich in storytelling, material research, and aesthetic vision.

Your role will include

Concept development: Translating our design vision into tangible, innovative product ideas. You will conduct in-depth research, develop moodboards, sketch by hand, and create 3D models and presentations.

3D modelling and visualisation: Developing precise 3D models using Rhino and producing high-quality renderings with Keyshot to clearly communicate form, material, and atmosphere. Visual storytelling is also supported through expressive sketches – created either by hand or digitally on iPad – which remain a vital part of our creative process.

Material and manufacturing research: Exploring and selecting innovative materials and production methods that enhance both aesthetic and functional dimensions of each product.

Technical development: Preparing accurate 2D and 3D drawings for prototypes and manufacturing. You’ll ensure technical feasibility while staying true to the poetic and formal essence of each product.

Prototyping and testing: Collaborating closely with artisans, manufacturers, and suppliers to refine prototypes, addressing design challenges with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach.

Production support: Overseeing the transition from prototype to final production, ensuring every detail is executed with precision, quality, and fidelity to the original concept.

Key responsibilities:

Lead product design projects across furniture, lighting, accessories, and custom-made pieces, from concept to final realisation. Bring a strong aesthetic vision and acute attention to detail to every project.

Possess a balanced blend of creativity and technical expertise, with a deep understanding of materials, production techniques, and finishing processes.

Communicate ideas clearly through freehand sketches, digital visualizations, renderings, and compelling presentations.

Collaborate seamlessly with clients, internal teams, and external partners.

Independently manage supplier relationships and oversee production stages to ensure quality and fidelity to the design intent.

Minimum qualifications:

five plus years’ of experience as an industrial/product designer, with a focus on furniture, lighting, accessories, or bespoke pieces
strong competence in design research, concept development, and technical detailing across all stages of the design process
a refined aesthetic sensibility and meticulous attention to detail
graphic design skills and a strong visual sensibility are considered an advantage
strong skills in freehand sketching, as well as the ability to produce compelling visualisations, 3D models, renderings and presentations
excellent communication and collaboration skills, both within the team and when engaging with clients or external partners
confidence in working independently and managing relationships with suppliers and manufacturers
fluency in Italian and English, both written and spoken

Software skills:

excellent proficiency in Rhinoceros
excellent proficiency in Keyshot
excellent proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
familiarity with digital sketching tools such as Concepts, Procreate, or similar is a plus
