Kaia Lighting is hiring an atelier associate to join its team in Munich, Germany.
Kaia Editions is a design-led brand operating at the intersection of architecture, interiors, and product design. From our atelier near Munich, we develop and produce high-quality lighting objects for architects, interior designers, and private clients worldwide. Our work is defined by a commitment to precise craftsmanship, material integrity, and a timeless formal language.
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Atelier Associate to join our atelier full-time. This is a hands-on atelier position, suited to someone with a genuine passion for design and craftsmanship, a strong attention to detail, and a proactive, production-oriented mindset.
Your role
You will be a key part of our atelier, responsible for the precise production of our lighting pieces, supporting prototyping processes, and contributing to the overall workflow of the workshop. Working closely with the design and project team, you will help ensure the consistent quality, refinement, and reliability of our products.
Responsibilities:
- independent fabrication and assembly of lighting objects and components
- support in the development and realization of prototypes
- careful packaging of products for clients, shipping, and presentations
- support in purchasing and procurement of materials, components, and workshop supplies
- assistance in sourcing materials and coordinating with suppliers
- ensuring quality standards in construction, finish, and materials
- close coordination with design, project management, and the wider team
Profile:
- background in design, product design, craftsmanship, or a related field
- experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment, ideally in high-quality production
- excellent manual skills and technical understanding
- sensitivity to design and materiality
- high level of precision and attention to detail
- structured, reliable, and self-driven working style
- genuine enthusiasm for working in a design-focused, craft-driven atelier environment
