Overbury Interiors are seeking a mid-weight interior designer for a full-time, on-site position based in our studio on the Hampshire/Surrey border.
We have been crafting beautiful and timeless interiors for high end residential clients for over 30 years from our studio based near the Hampshire/Surrey border. We highly value our relationships with our clients, many who have returned to us for multiple projects over the years.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys creative thinking, problem solving and taking ownership of all phases of a design project. Responsibilities:
- manage all aspects of interior design projects from concept development to final installation
- develop design concepts, presentations, and proposals that meet clients’ needs
- work collaboratively with all members of the design team and be ready to do what it takes to get the job done
- create detailed design drawings, specifications, and schedules
- specify furniture, materials, finishes and lighting solutions that align with the design concept
- prepare sampling as required
- liaise with the procurement manager to prepare detailed budgets and FF&E packages
- communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, contractors and team members to ensure project success
- ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in line with quality standards
- general administrative duties as required within a small, tight knit design studio
Requirements:
- bachelor’s degree in interior design is desirable
- minimum two years’ experience at a design studio working on high-end residential design projects
- proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD or Vectorworks), SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop and In Design
- experience in building nurturing and fostering client and supplier relationships
- excellent Microsoft Office skills and ability to set up and maintain schedules and specification sheets
- strong knowledge of FF&E, fabrics, materials and suppliers
- desire and ability to work within a supportive team proactively managing workload and timelines across multiple projects
- strong presentation and communication skills with an excellent command of written and spoken English
- clean UK Driving Licence and own vehicle
