Kanika Design Studio is seeking to appoint a chief design officer for its team in Limassol, Cyprus.

This executive role provides strategic leadership and oversight across architectural and interior design projects, technical specifications, FF&E standards, refurbishment and development projects, permitting, compliance, budgets and consultant management. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary design teams and drive sustainable, innovative and commercially viable design solutions aligned with the Kanika Group’s long-term vision and operational objectives.
As a member of the group executive team, the chief design officer will contribute to executive decision-making and play a key role in the operational performance and sustainable growth of the Group.
Key responsibilities:
- leading the Kanika Design Studio and overseeing internal and external multidisciplinary design teams
- developing, implementing and safeguarding the Group’s architectural, interior design, FF&E and technical specification standards
- overseeing hotel development, refurbishment, remodelling and technical advisory projects across the Group
- coordinating complex multidisciplinary hotel design processes, including architecture, interior design, engineering, landscape architecture, lighting, acoustics, fire and life safety engineering and construction documentation
- managing permitting processes, statutory compliance, technical approvals and regulatory requirements
- driving sustainable, innovative and operationally effective design solutions aligned with the Group’s brand identity and commercial objectives
- leading the preparation and implementation of construction methodologies, technical specifications and project documentation
- providing technical guidance on feasibility studies, land planning, hotel development opportunities and operational functionality
- managing consultants, technical advisors, project resources, budgets, timelines and project delivery milestones
- supporting procurement processes relating to construction materials, furniture, fixtures, equipment and décor specifications
- contributing to strategic planning, operational excellence and long-term development initiatives across the Kanika Group
Profile:
- Master of Architecture (MArch) or a related discipline
- minimum seven years’ experience in a senior leadership role
- proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large, complex design projects
- strong track record in design management, project delivery and executive-level decision-making
- sound knowledge of technical specifications, statutory compliance, permitting and construction processes
- strong commercial awareness, stakeholder management and strategic planning capabilities
- excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills
