Position Details
Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
Lecturer-Pool faculty are non-tenure track faculty hired to teach one to four courses per semester. Course requirements may include a combination of teaching on-campus classes at the main campus in Huntsville, and online courses, depending on the needs of the academic department. Lecturer-Pool faculty hiring is based on student demand, on a semester-by-semester basis.
The ability to teach multiple levels of ballet and modern to BFA students will be the primary consideration for this position. Additional assignments could include dance history, world dance, pedagogy, or other areas of expertise that support the BFA and/or MFA curricula. There may be opportunities to choreograph and have work presented in department concerts each semester.
Educational Requirements for the Position
MFA in Dance or related discipline is required.
Experience Required for the Position
Teaching experience preferred.
