Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, developing curriculum courses, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.
Under general supervision, this individual will develop, prepare, and teach digital media technology courses in the areas of user experience (UX) design, user interface (UI) design, user research and testing, multimedia production, content creation, video production and editing, animation, and other topics related to digital media. The successful candidate will also be responsible for recruiting and advising students. The faculty member will collaborate with industry partners to ensure relevancy of the curriculum and provide necessary training and education. This person is responsible for facilitating the Digital Media Technology Advisory Committee and serving as a member, as well as recruiting industry professionals to join the Advisory Committee.

Education Required
- Bachelors degree in digital media technology, user experience, human-centered design, multimedia, new media, or related fields.
Education Preferred
- Master’s degree in digital media technology, user experience, human-centered design, multimedia, new media, or related fields.
- Industry-recognized UX design certificate such as Google UX Design Professional.
- Quality Matters and/or ACUE certifications.
Experience Required
- 3 years relevant industry or field experience in digital media, user experience design, user interface design, or user research and testing-related fields
- Proficiency with Canva for multimedia production and content creation. ·
- Proficiency with Figma for UI/UX design.
- One year of teaching and/or industry training experience in digital media or user experience (UX) design project topics in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars
Experience Preferred
- More than 3 years relevant industry or field experience in digital media, user experience design, user interface design, or user research and testing-related fields.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and animation.
- Proficiency in Canva Affinity or other computer graphics software
- Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
- Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems
