The Yard Creative is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our growing team and help drive the business forward. You will support the brand Director in delivering evidence-led strategic branding, communications, and marketing work for our clients. Your role will require strong skills in graphic, motion, and digital design, combined with a curious and creative mindset that enables you to think differently and innovate beyond the conventional. Additionally, you will be responsible for leading the creative direction on smaller projects.

This individual must be prepared to work across various projects for prominent brands, as well as entrepreneurs and start-ups, spanning all sectors, including lifestyle and consumer brands, FMCG, fintech, property, and retail. You will collaborate with an integrated team of creatives who specialise in research, brand strategy, UX/UI, and 3D design throughout the project's duration. The individual will be expected to deliver project outcomes to an exceptionally high standard, guided by more senior team members.

Roles and responsibilities

• Generating ideas and supporting the creative director and wider design team

• Developing graphic design and brand concepts across an array of sectors and projects

• Design development across print, digital and environmental graphics

• Art working for print and digital and supplier liaison (printers and developers)

• Brand identity rollout; specifically across marketing materials, uniforms and packaging

• Attending client meetings and verbally contributing to discussions and presentations

• Copywriting under the guidance of the senior members of the team

• Time management

Specific skills required for the role:

• Excellent idea and concept generation abilities

• Solid understanding of the design process and experience across the entire design lifecycle

• Previous experience in design strategy

• Great skills in creating bespoke brands/identities

• Great sketching and illustration skills

• Confidence in expressing ideas/presentation skills

• Great experience in art working, print production techniques and print management

• Confident client liaison skills

• Actively interested in keeping up to date with trends and technology, with a love for all that’s new and innovative, regularly visiting exhibitions and events

• Self-starter with good time-keeping

• Experience working directly with clients and wider project teams

• Expert Apple Mac user

• Experience of MS Office

• Expert user of Adobe Creative Cloud

• Experience/familiarity with the use of social listening tools

• Experience in social media strategies and content creation

• Excellence use of animation, video and digital software and tools

• Experience/familiarity with digital, UX/UI design

Qualifications required:

• 2:1 or higher Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Branding or Design
