WH Architects is hiring a Part 2/3 architect/architectural technologist to join its team in Bristol, UK.

About the practice
We are a well-established architectural practice based in central Bristol, seeking an architectural technologist or technically focused architect to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic, ambitious studio during a period of continued expansion.
Our close-knit team works across a diverse portfolio including residential developments, high-quality private residential refurbishments and remodelling, mixed-use schemes, student accommodation, and hotel refurbishment projects. We have extensive experience working with historic and Listed Buildings. While most of our work is based in and around Bristol, our projects extend across the Southwest and into London.
The role
We are looking for a motivated professional with strong construction knowledge and a passion for high-quality delivery. The successful candidate will primarily support the commercial sector of the practice, managing projects from planning through to technical delivery and construction, managing teams to deliver construction packages.
You will work closely with practice directors, maintain strong relationships with established clients, and help develop new client connections. The role will also involve leading project teams, coordinating consultants, and liaising with contractors and site teams.

Key responsibilities:
- deliver projects across all RIBA work stages
- produce and coordinate detailed technical drawing packages
- prepare specifications, schedules, and construction documentation
- lead consultant coordination and multidisciplinary design management
- manage clients and projects independently
- support and mentor junior team members
- participate in internal quality assurance processes
- prepare risk assessments and CDM documentation
- liaise with contractors, resolve technical queries, and support delivery on site
- assist with project programming and management of timescales
- communicate with planning authorities, building control, and statutory consultees
Requirements:
- minimum five years’ post-qualification UK experience
- degree in architecture or architectural technology (or equivalent)
- excellent AutoCAD proficiency
- strong technical detailing skills and construction knowledge
- experience preparing UK Building Regulations packages
- proven site experience and ability to manage projects during construction
- experience across both new-build and refurbishment/extension/conversion projects
- full UK driving licence and access to a car
- highly organised with strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
