Liganova is seeking a team lead for 3D design to join its Amsterdam team.
From April 2026 we are looking for a team lead for 3D design (all genders) for our office in Amsterdam. Become part of our community – we look forward to meeting you!
Our mission is to constantly create unforgettable brand memories in real life in real time. As people will seek richer, real‑life experiences that foster genuine human connections in the future supported by the digital only when in their benefit, we believe we operate exactly where the future of brands take shape.
Our 3D Design team creates cutting‑edge experiences for leading brands, from spatial design to activations to windows and in‑store POS set-ups, from bespoke installations, events and activations to large‑scale rollouts, possibly with and without digital layers. For this team, we are looking for a team lead who combines strong creative, conceptual and spatial thinking with a solid understanding how ideas are built, prepared and executed. Leading a team of six spatial, industrial and product designers, guiding them from first conceptual thinking to technical executions. Doing so in close collaboration with the other Liganova teams such as Art Direction, Graphic Design, project management and production, various suppliers and clients. The team translates client ambitions into clear 3D designs, tests and validates technical feasibility and ensures that every detail of execution is on point.
If you love stretching the boundaries of 3D design, inspiring and leading clients, enabling a team to deliver their best work, care about construction details, materials, sustainability and get excited about setting the benchmark for real‑world brand experiences, we would love to meet you.
What you do:
- provide creative and conceptual direction for 3D executions: you lead, supervise and/or monitor the 3D creative process, translate the creative brand direction and objectives into inspirational and feasible designs
- define standards: you set the bar for renderings (Enscape /Keyshot), technical planning, CAD drawings (Rhino), and construction details, ensuring all designs are feasible, scalable, and sustainable
- future driven strategic and conceptual brand thinking: you know what is going on in the world of brand design, brand marketing, retail brand marketing and have ideas how brands can connect with their audiences in the future
- innovation and material strategy: you drive the selection and definition of materials (wood, metal, sustainable alternatives) and stay ahead of technological trends in retail production
- hands-on problem solving: While you lead, you remain close to the craft. You support the team with detailed planning and prototyping for complex window and in-store campaigns
- lead the team: You take over the disciplinary and professional leadership of the design team, including resource planning and performance management. You actively mentor your team members, fostering their growth in conceptual design, technical planning, CAD and render skills, and material knowledge
- process ownership: You oversee the workflow of the 3D design team and align planning and capacity with the 2D Design team, project management and production, ensuring efficiency and high quality in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
- a degree in spatial design, product design, industrial design or architecture
- at least eight plus years’ of professional experience in retail, exhibition, exhibition or window and POS design, with a strong focus on creative and conceptual thinking and a good understanding how to bring ideas to life
- experience in leading a small team or mentoring junior designers. You know how to motivate and coach a team to perform at a high level
- demonstrable interest in and ideas about the future of brand spaces
- experience in working for and/or with brands and servicing clients
- knowledge of material properties and manufacturing methods
- experience in working with Rhino, Enscape and Keyshot and can guide others in these tools
- solution-oriented thinker who anticipates technical challenges before they arise. Able to balance aesthetic requirements with production and budget constraints
- communicate confidently in English, enjoy presenting to clients and can translate complex technical details for stakeholders and project managers
- expert in MS Office, MAC applications, and relevant CAD software
- experience in planning projects, manage workload and capacities and working within a budget, number of hours and production wise
