Natalia Miyar Atelier is hiring a senior FF&E interior designer to join its team in London.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a skilled and experienced senior FF&E designer to join our growing design studio. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team as we expand our portfolio and take on an increasing number of prestigious residential, hospitality and commercial projects.
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 to 15 years’ proven experience in all aspects of high-end residential design, a meticulous eye for detail and a true passion for sourcing the finest furnishings, finishes, and materials.
They must be confident in leading projects from concept to completion, taking full ownership of the FF&E design and the implementation process, including procurement and installation.
They will have experience and an understanding of managing project budgets and timelines, be proactive, resourceful, and possess a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the team.
Key responsibilities:
- lead FF&E projects from initial concept to final installation, working closely with the interior design and architectural teams
- ensure cohesive integration of FF&E elements within the wider interior design vision
- produce detailed FF&E CAD layouts and develop project concepts
- design, detail, and document bespoke furniture and fittings
- source new, custom, antique and vintage items to suit each project brief
- coordinate procurement processes and manage supplier relationships, including manufacturers and purchasing agents
- conduct material, fabric, and finish research and sourcing
- identify and establish new supplier and manufacturer contacts
- review project budgets, quotations, and manage procurement tracking
- evaluate shop drawings, prototypes, and samples for quality and compliance
- prepare and participate in client presentations and design meetings
- develop specification sheets, cost schedules, and FF&E documentation
- develop CGI packs
- mentor junior members of the FF&E team
Candidate requirements:
- minimum 10 to 15 years’ experience in FF&E design, with a strong portfolio in high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial interiors
- degree in interior design or product design (BA minimum)
- experience in managing all phases of a project from concept through to completion
- prior experience in a leading UK-based design studio, particularly on high end residential or luxury hospitality projects
- international travel required
Software and technical proficiency:
- 2D: AutoCAD
- 3D: SketchUp
- Graphic: Photoshop, InDesign
- FF&E specification: experience in Studio Designer useful, but not essential
- Office tools: Microsoft Word and Excel
- produce detailed FF&E CAD layouts (and internal elevations) and develop project concepts
