Since 1998, we have been designing and making exceptional upholstered furniture from our London workshop, producing both our own collection and fully bespoke pieces for leading interior designers and architects in the UK and internationally
With a longstanding reputation for craftsmanship, innovation and specialist expertise, design sits at the heart of everything we do. This Junior Technical Designer role has been created to support and strengthen our growing design team.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career designer eager to develop practical experience within a specialist furniture design and manufacturing environment. Working closely with senior members of the team, you will gain hands-on exposure to bespoke projects, production processes, technical drawing standards and collection development.

- help organise, update and maintain internal and external manufacturing documents
- keep technical documentation up to date for the sales and marketing team
- take and edit photography and videography of finished pieces and production processes for internal use, client sign-off, and sales and marketing purposes
- assist with collection development and technical updates where required
- support the wider design team with day-to-day studio tasks and project administration
The ideal candidate will have:
- proficiency in Rhino, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
- a qualification in furniture design, product design or a related discipline is advantageous, but not essential for candidates with strong technical ability and relevant experience
- strong interest in furniture, making and technical design
- good technical drawing skills and meticulous attention to detail
- an organised and methodical approach, with a willingness to learn
- the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team
- an interest in upholstery, craftsmanship and manufacturing processes
What the role offers:
- the opportunity to develop strong technical design skills within a specialist furniture studio and workshop
- direct exposure to furniture making, upholstery and workshop processes
- the opportunity to grow within a design-led furniture company
- the chance to learn Sedilia’s distinctive approach to design and making, and to develop a deep understanding of our technical standards, processes and craftsmanship
