Zulufish is seeking a senior project architect or associate architect to join its team in London.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on senior project architect who also acts as a technical lead across the studio
Zulufish is a boutiqdue architecture and interior design studio delivering high-end residential projects across London. We are seeking a Senior Project Architect / Associate to take a leading role in project delivery while acting as a technical authority within the studio.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who enjoys owning projects end-to-end while elevating design and technical standards across a collaborative team.
The role
Project leadership:
- full ownership of projects from planning through to delivery
- lead projects across RIBA Stages 2–5 (excluding primary site leadership)
- drive design development, coordination, and technical resolution
Technical leadership (studio-wide):
- act as a technical reference point across the studio
- support and guide project architects
- lead on complex technical detailing and delivery strategy
- review and advise on key drawing packages
Design and tchnical review (QA):
- lead Stage 3 and 4 reviews
- ensure coordination across disciplines
- provide buildability and delivery input
- raise overall technical quality and consistency
Mentorship and studio contribution:
- support and mentor team members
- contribute to raising studio standards
- provide guidance without formal line management responsibility
Note: this is not a traditional PM or admin-heavy management role
Client engagement:
- represent Zulufish in key client meetings
- provide architectural credibility and confidence
- support client relationships at key project stages
Site and delivery support (Stage 5):
- provide input during construction when required
- respond to site queries and coordinate with contractors
- attend site occasionally to support delivery
What we’re looking for:
- strong technical capability across RIBA Stages 3–5 (essential)
- confident decision-maker with a proactive mindset
- comfortable reviewing and challenging others’ work
- strong detailing and coordination experience
- ability to balance design intent with delivery
Experience:
- six to 12 years’ experience
- high-end residential project experience (London preferred)
- experience working on listed buildings (highly desirable)
- background in small to medium-sized design-led practices
