We are looking for an experienced product design engineer to join our growing team and play a key role in translating creative concepts into beautifully engineered products ready for manufacture.
The role
The role is a remote, part-time freelance position, with London-based studio visits or face-to-face meetings with directors occasionally required.
Working closely with the directors, you will be responsible for developing sculptural lighting concepts and compositions ready for manufacturing and assembly.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring excellent technical ability, strong organisational skills and a passion for thoughtful, environmentally-conscious design.
Key responsibilities:

- produce 3D CAD models using Grasshopper and Rhino, including intricate surface modelling
- create detailed technical drawings and manufacturing documentation
- liaise confidently with suppliers and manufacturers throughout the development process
- produce comprehensive bills of materials (BOMs), assembly documentation and maintain organised personal CAD libraries
- attend site meetings if required, liaising with architects, contractors and consultants regarding structural, installation and technical requirements
- manage multiple projects simultaneously, often working to demanding deadlines
- maintain excellent communication with the directors, providing regular progress updates throughout each project
Essential:
- minimum five years in product design, with experience within decorative lighting or sculpture
- understanding of Rhino including surface modelling
- KeyShot/V-Ray rendering experience
- knowledge of manufacturing methods and production processes
- knowledge of lighting components, LED systems, wiring and drivers
- experience working directly with manufacturers and suppliers
- excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- strong understanding of luxury products and premium manufacturing standards
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- must be available during usual work hours (9:00-18:00)
Desirable:
- understanding of Grasshopper
- good SolidWorks and AutoCAD skills
- experience creating accurate bill of materials (BOMs)
We’re looking for someone who is:
- passionate about exceptional product design, lighting, sculpture and craft
- located in London or the surrounding area
- highly organised and self-motivated
- solutions-focused with excellent problem-solving skills
- comfortable taking ownership of projects from concept through to manufacture
- able to balance creativity with practical engineering
- confident in communicating with clients, suppliers and contractors
- enthusiastic about craftsmanship, innovation and sustainable design
