Job Description
Hope College seeks a tenure-track assistant or associate professor in 18th- and 19th-century United States history, with a focus on African American history. The successful candidate will offer survey courses of United States history to 1877, the history of race and ethnicity in the United States, and upper-level history courses on the Revolutionary and Civil War eras. We encourage candidates to propose additional courses that will contribute to the breadth of our department offerings.

Ph.D. in hand is preferred, but ABDs with a clear defense date are welcome to apply.
