Assistant/Associate Professor of Design
Southern Virginia University seeks applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Design to teach Illustration & Digital Painting starting in the Fall of 2025.
Responsibilities
- Major responsibilities include teaching, development of curriculum, undergraduate advising, and university service.
- The position also requires mentorship of students and continued improvement of a growing Design major.
- The teaching load is twelve credit hours per semester, an average of 24 credits per year.
Minimum Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have industry experience, a proven teaching record, and evidence of effective teaching in small classes.
- An M.F.A. in Illustration, Design, or a related field is required.
- Candidates should have a strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in digital painting and illustration.
- Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
