Michael Anastassiades, a premium UK brand well known for creating contemporary decorative lighting and objects of the highest quality, is looking for a product developer to join its team in London.
We are seeking an industrial designer (mechanical engineer, electronic engineer, industrial design engineer) to work in a junior/mid-weight product developer role, contributing to the growth of our research and development capacity:
- delivering production drawings, bill of materials, and installation instructions
- developing new lighting and mechanical solutions
- producing mock-ups and prototypes
- improving existing products, enhancing quality and complying with certifications
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong technical skills and design sensibility through examples of production information and drawings. We are looking for competencies in lighting and electronic engineering manufacturing, as well as mechanical engineering processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for design, working as part of a team and gaining comprehensive research and development experience.
The skills and experience required are:
- excellent ability in 2D and 3D software (we use Fusion 360, but experience with AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks, etc. is also of interest), with a strong skill set in producing production drawings
- e few years of experience in Product Development with a keen interest in lighting
- general understanding of lighting, electrical wiring, and LED development
- proactive approach to sourcing and managing suppliers to prototype and produce final pieces aligned with budget and lead-time expectations
- thoughtful attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, a problem-solving attitude, and a confident, hands-on approach are essential
- fluency in English is essential. You must be eligible to work in the UK
- a relevant degree in engineering or product design
Full-time position, five days per week at the office in London.
