Tuckey Design Studio is looking for a freelance junior interior designer to join its London office.
We are looking for talented, proactive, and ambitious designers who are passionate about working with existing buildings and who are interested in contributing to the future of the practice. Candidates will have at least one year’s experience and be comfortable working independently and supporting a senior designer or project architect.
We seek applicants with the following qualifications, qualities, and experience:
- at least one year of relevant experience in a similar role
- work experience through all stages, from concept design, specification, to procurement and installation, is helpful
- excellent design and presentation skills, including hand drawing
- experience on technical drawings, FF&E specifications, and schedules
- basic knowledge of lighting design and electrical layouts
- mood boards and presentation boards creation
- costing and budgeting basics
- site experience to support delivery, installation coordination, and styling is helpful but not essential
- knowledge of Vectorworks (2d and 3d) is preferable, or similar
- experience using Adobe Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- able to assist in following and maintaining the company’s Quality Management System
- time management and able to prioritise tasks
- attention to detail
- strong organisational skills
- good communication skills
- ability to work well as part of a team and independently as required
The role would initially be freelance, 3 days per week for six months. If the right collaboration is found, we would review the possibility of a more long-term and permanent position.
