Job Description:
SUNY Oneonta has an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities Planning & Safety Department as a Site Representative, Project Manager . This role offers the chance to play a vital part in the planning, construction, and successful delivery of capital projects that support the long-term growth, safety, and functionality of the university's physical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will enjoy working collaboratively with contractors, architects, engineers, faculty, and staff to ensure that major campus projects are implemented safely, efficiently, and to the highest construction standards.
As a key member of the Facilities Planning & Safety team, the Site Representative plays an essential role in monitoring progress on active construction sites, supporting project planning and design, ensuring compliance with contract documents, and safeguarding the university's interests during all project phases. This position is suited for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, values precision and problem-solving, and enjoys making a meaningful impact on the built environment of SUNY Oneonta.
The Department of Facilities Planning and Safety is responsible for capital planning, delivery of capital construction projects, energy management, space management, facilities operations, and property control across 45 major buildings and approximately 2.4 million gross square feet of campus space.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Serving as the on-site representative for SUNY Oneonta, the State University Construction Fund (SUCF), and architects/engineers on assigned construction projects.
- Assisting in the planning and design process for SUCF projects.
- Collaborating with faculty, staff, contractors, and design professionals throughout project development.
- Overseeing contractor compliance with contract drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and construction schedules.
- Monitoring contractor progress, addressing field questions, and elevating issues as needed.
- Reviewing contractor administrative documentation and payment requests on behalf of SUCF/SUNY/Architect-Engineer (AE).
- Managing project close-out activities, warranty processes, and project documentation.
- Performing additional project-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of five years of field experience managing construction or industrial projects.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of applicable building codes, laws, rules and standards related to design and construction.
- Thorough understanding of project specifications, plan drawings and other construction documents (including submittals and shop drawings).
- Effective written and verbal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related construction field.
- Professional license in Architecture or Engineering.
- New York State Code Enforcement Officer certification.
- Experience and working knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit.
- Experience working with and serving diverse populations.
