DaK Architects is seeking a recently qualified architect or experienced Part 2 assistant to join its London studio.
Our practice is based in Shoreditch and has built a reputation over two decades for creating design-led residential, commercial, mixed-use and urban design projects of all scales at every stage from conception to completion on site. We are a small but ambitious studio, able to deliver projects of scale and complexity thanks to our deep experience, collaborative way of working, and reputation as design leaders. Whilst London and the South East remain our core focus, we also work throughout the UK and internationally — recently completing a villa in Costa Rica and leading new buildings and masterplanning projects in the Philippines.
We believe architecture should be authentic, sustainable and socially responsible. Our method-led approach draws from the historic and physical context of each site to create contemporary buildings and places that belong — from bespoke homes to urban masterplans, both in the UK and abroad.
The role
You will support the director and wider team on projects at all stages — from early concept design to technical detailing and on-site delivery.
Current work includes:
- new-build houses and residential development
- commercial, residential and mixed-use projects
- urban design and masterplans in the UK and abroad
- this is a hands-on role that offers responsibility and real career development within a supportive, collaborative, design-driven studio
We are looking for someone who:
- enjoys working in a small, ambitious team and, with guidance, can take ownership of independent tasks
- 2 years minimum practice experience
- is confident, organised and proactive — always thinking one step ahead
- is proficient in BIM software (ideally ArchiCAD)
- has strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite
- can communicate design ideas through sketches, models and digital graphics
- is comfortable presenting to clients, consultants and non-professionals
- is a clear communicator with excellent problem-solving ability
- is fluent in spoken and written English.
