Baca Architects is hiring a qualified architect to join its team in London.
What we do
BACA architects is a leading and award-winning design and urban planning studio that specialises in designing places, buildings, and masterplans in, on, near, and under water. We are an international leader in flood-resilient architecture, climate-adaptive masterplanning, sustainable waterfront development, and innovative floating and amphibious structures. The team brings together expertise in architecture, urban design, and environmental engineering. Through our innovative LifE (Long-term Initiatives for Flood-risk Environments) approach, we integrate water-sensitive design strategies into the built environment to address increasing flood risks and environmental change.
Our team
We are a compact practice with a growing international portfolio – with work in the UK, Maldives, India, Australia and Saudi. We are partnered with NBAX.at, Square Floating City and Waterstudio (Netherlands), AMs Consultants (India), and ICF (USA), we bring decades of cross-sector, worldwide experience, engineering, and policy expertise to deliver end-to-end human-led solutions from feasibility to design, planning, and construction.

Sample projects at different scales:
Masterplanning Scale
Water City is a 200-acre circular urban-industrial campus on the edge of Hyderabad that integrates education, R&D, manufacturing, digital infrastructure, housing, and nature-based systems into a self-regulating ecosystem to address regional water scarcity while enabling sustainable growth in data centres, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing at global scale.
Neighbourhood
Design for Floating Square City.
Square Floating City is designed as a modular and scalable alternative for urban expansion. By using the waterspace, it is designed to confront rising sea levels and land scarcity. Public buildings and community spaces can be prefabricated off site and installed with minimal disturbance, ensuring rapid and flexible urban expansion. Incorporating renewable energy, water circularity systems, and climate resilient infrastructure, it serves as a bold prototype for the future of urbanisation.
