Perkins&Will is hiring a senior architect to join its team in London.
At Perkins&Will’s London studio, we’re looking for experienced senior architects who lead with clarity, think boldly, and bring ideas to life with both vision and precision.
About the role
As a senior architect, you’ll be a confident design and delivery lead – shaping ideas, guiding teams, and bringing clarity to complex challenges. You’ll take ownership of project packages and processes, lead coordination across disciplines, and represent the design vision to clients, consultants and collaborators.
You’ll work in a studio that thrives on curiosity and crossover – where ideas flow freely between scales and sectors to unlock fresh perspectives. We think wide and work deep, shaping projects across the UK and internationally, from transformative science-led innovation and pioneering healthcare and education, to city-shaping masterplans and workplaces built for the future.
Everything we do is rooted in our living design philosophy, which puts people, place, and planet at the centre of every decision. We believe architecture should connect people, lift spirits, and leave places better than we found them. That’s the kind of work we do – and the kind of people we do it with.
What you’ll find and Perkins&Will:
- a design-led studio that puts people and planet first
- a friendly, diverse and ambitious team
- a collaborative, supportive environment where good ideas grow
- projects with purpose, depth, and complexity
- mentorship, progression, and space to shape your own path
- a culture that values imagination, rigour, and making things real
- opportunities to represent the studio externally and build trusted client relationships
- a belief that good ideas come from everywhere – and that diverse voices make better work
- a strong sense of community where everyone feels they belong
- access to a wide variety of learning, training, and development opportunities, including financial support for study and membership fees.
What we’re looking for:
- a RIBA Part 3 qualification, or equivalent professional registration, from a recognised school of architecture
- creative thinkers with exceptional design and technical skills
- proven ability to lead projects and design packages with clarity, intent, and technical precision
- experience preparing and coordinating detailed construction
- documents, specifications, and schedules through all stages
- advanced knowledge of codes, regulations, and contract requirements
- skill in coordinating and refining material, product, and system selections with performance and sustainability in mind
- confidence coordinating across disciplines to maintain design integrity, with on-site coordination experience
- ability to understand scope, roles, and risk – making thoughtful decisions to manage complexity
- ability to bring creativity and curiosity to complex problems – advancing ideas through both vision and detail
- team players who bring curiosity, initiative, and care to their work
- people who want their work to matter – to others, and to the world around them
- a flexible and open-minded attitude towards new ways of working
- a track record of mentoring others and contributing to a growth-focused culture
- confidence representing the practice externally – in meetings,
- presentations, and through ongoing client relationships
- strong skills in Revit, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and visualisation tools (V-Ray/Enscape)
- fluency in written and spoken English (additional languages a bonus)
