Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts (Ref.: 534769), to commence in August 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree at the time of appointment, with at least two years of full-time teaching experience at the tertiary level. Past teaching should include introductory to intermediate-level undergraduate courses in computational methods, e.g., programming, data science, natural language processing, spatial data processing and analysis etc. Preference will be given to applicants demonstrating both solid technical/computational skills and engagement with the Arts and the Humanities.
The appointee will be responsible for teaching and academic advising at the undergraduate level for Faculty’s interdisciplinary programme – the Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Digital Technologies (BA(HDT)) programme. The programme places a strong emphasis on hands-on practice and student projects, and more information can be obtained at https://ug.arts.hku.hk/bahdt . Besides existing courses, the appointee will have the opportunity to develop and teach elective courses in their area of expertise.
