East JR is seeking a sales designer to join its team in London.
East JR is hiring a sales designer to help us bring in and shape high-calibre projects across residential, F&B and luxury retail.
This is not a traditional design role. You won’t be stuck delivering projects end-to-end or buried in technical detail.
Instead, you’ll be at the front – meeting clients, shaping ideas, setting direction, and helping convert opportunities into built work.
The role
You’ll sit at the intersection of sales, design and brand.
Your job is to:
- bring in and convert high-value projects across residential, hospitality (F&B), and luxury retail
- lead early-stage conversations with clients and quickly build trust
- translate briefs into compelling, high-level design direction
- produce sharp, persuasive decks that capture the vision and sell what’s coming
- set the creative tone before handing projects to our design team or external collaborators
- occasionally develop interior concepts yourself where needed
- represent East JR externally – conversations, introductions, opportunities
You’ll work closely with the founder and have real influence from day one.
What we’re looking for:
- three to five plus years’ experience in interior design or a related field
- strong design instinct – you know what good looks like and can articulate it quickly
- commercial awareness and confidence in client-facing situations
- ability to build a narrative and sell an idea, not just present it
- comfortable producing decks quickly and consistently
- proactive, outgoing, and naturally persuasive
- someone who prefers momentum over perfection
What this role is not:
- not a purely technical or delivery role
- not suited to risk-averse or overly process-driven designers
- not for those who prefer to stay behind a desk
Why this role exists
We want someone who can:
- help us consistently attract and convert better projects
- elevate the brand through stronger early-stage thinking
- bring energy, personality, and sharp instincts into the business
What you’ll get:
- £45,000 base salary
- commission on sales + performance-based bonuses
- high level of autonomy – structure your time as needed
- opportunity to work directly with the founder
- a role focused on the most exciting part of the process: the beginning
Working style:
- flexible
- studio, home, on the road — whatever moves things forward
