Studio Artisan is seeking a senior interior designer to join its team in London.
Studio Artisan is a boutique interior architecture and design studio based in Notting Hill, London, known for its high-end residential and bespoke refurbishment projects both in the UK and internationally. The role
We are seeking an experienced senior interior designer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role covering the full spectrum of interior design and project delivery, from concept through to completion. You will work closely with directors, clients, contractors, and consultants, taking responsibility for design development, technical documentation, procurement, and on-site coordination.
Projects are predominantly high-end residential refurbishments, requiring a confident and detail-oriented designer with excellent technical skills, design flair, and project management capabilities.
Key responsibilities:
- lead design workstreams on luxury residential projects, from feasibility through to completion
- develop creative concepts, mood boards, and material palettes; present schemes to clients with confidence
- produce technical drawings, joinery details, electrical layouts, and tender packages
- prepare, submit, and coordinate planning and building control applications (with support from directors/architects)
- produce and manage FF&E schedules, lighting and finishes specifications, and procurement packages
- liaise directly with clients, suppliers, contractors, and consultants to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget
- attend and lead site meetings, design reviews, and project progress updates
- manage timelines, budgets, and procurement, including value engineering where required
- keep abreast of new suppliers, products, and design trends, and bring fresh ideas into the studio
Requirements:
- a degree or equivalent qualification in interior design or interior architecture.
- minimum three – five years’ post-graduate experience, with at least three years’ in the luxury residential sector (UK high-end refurbishment essential)
- excellent conceptual design and presentation skills, with strong ability to communicate ideas visually and verbally
- strong technical skills: joinery detailing, layout planning, tender packages, and construction documentation
- proficiency in AutoCAD (essential), SketchUp/Lumion (preferred), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Photoshop), and Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
- comprehensive knowledge of UK building regulations, planning, listed building, and health and safety requirements
- strong FF&E expertise, with excellent supplier knowledge across furniture, lighting, textiles, finishes and artwork
- demonstrated experience in procurement, budget management, and project delivery
- impeccable spoken and written English; confident in producing reports, specifications, and client-facing documentation
- highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
