Matthew Allchurch Architects is seeking a talented architectural assistant with a strong interest in interior architecture and design, combined with a technical mindset and a rigorous approach to detailing.
About the role
This role is ideal for someone who is design-driven, technically confident and passionate about delivering refined, well-resolved interiors that integrate seamlessly with architectural intent.
You will be involved across all stages of projects, with a particular focus on interior-led design development, coordination and technical delivery. Working closely with senior architects and consultants, you will contribute to high-quality, detail-rich projects from concept through to construction.
About the practice
Matthew Allchurch Architects is a design-led practice based at the multi-disciplinary Boathouse Design Studio, on the banks of the River Thames at Teddington Lock. Responsibilities:
- develop and deliver interior architecture and design concepts aligned with the overall architectural vision
- assist the project team in the production of architectural information for planning, tender and construction stages
- 3D/BIM modelling in Revit
- visualisation and production of sketch perspectives
- liaison with consultants, suppliers and contractors to ensure design intent is maintained
- assist with site queries, technical resolution and quality control during construction
Skills:
- strong graphics and presentation skills
- strong interest in interior design and detailing
- ability to produce clear, accurate and well-coordinated technical drawings and sketches
- confident communicator with a collaborative mindset
- proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit (Adobe Suite experience advantageous)
Education:
- RIBA Part 2 in an architectural discipline (BA, BSc, BArch, BAS, Level 6)
