RSHP is looking for a computational design BIM coordinator to join its London team.
RSHP is an international architectural practice who has designed some of world’s most iconic buildings. Our portfolio of projects ranges from the renowned Lloyd’s of London building, a new distillery and visitor centre for The Macallan in Speyside, to The Leadenhall Building, an office tower which is home to the practice’s studio. Currently, we are working on a range of high-profile projects, including our first residential project in New York.
RSHP is seeking a highly skilled Rhino & Grasshopper specialist who will serve as a BIM coordinator within the Project Technology Team. This role requires deep expertise in computational design automation and BIM workflows, integrating designs using various software by bridging workflows using Rhino, Revit, Grasshopper, Rhino Inside and Dynamo. The ideal candidate will provide technical support, develop custom tools and enhance workflows for design teams across projects.
Responsibilities
Computational design:
- act as the primary Rhino, Grasshopper and Rhino Inside expert
- develop in conjunction with project teams, design automation workflows
- provide Rhino and Grasshopper support
- develop and optimise Grasshopper scripts for design exploration, data extraction and workflow automation
- support the integration of Rhino Inside to improve interoperability between Rhino and Revit workflows
- assist with the development of custom plugins and scripts (Python, C#) to amplify the effect of visual programming
- provide technical guidance and training to design teams on parametric design, automation and integration
BIM coordination:
- assist with project set-up based on project BIM requirements and provide advice on best practice
- prepare project BIM execution plans
- establish workflows based on BIM standards
- coordinate agreed workflows with design consultants
- prepare project specific training documentation
- coordinate project using the agreed project standards
- maintain and adjust project standard documentation throughout the work stages
- participate in providing assessments and project specific training to internal staff members
- provide first and second line support of design authoring and federation systems
- provide technical assistance to project teams using design authoring and federation tools
- develop and communicate procedural workflows to the technical group
- report to the project technology lead and work closely with all technical groups to develop strategic digital outcomes
Required skills and experience:
- in-depth working knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper, Rhino Inside, Revit, Dynamo
- strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex computational design/design automation issues
- coding experience relevant for visual programming
- experience working in an architectural production environment
- experience of working in a project coordination role
- natural discourse toward digital design
- digital design research and development enthusiast
- resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work effectively under pressure while always remaining calm and professional
- good communications skills both written and verbal
- good organisational skills
- self-motivated and able to take responsibility
- able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
- able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally

- ISO 19650 accreditation
