We’re looking for an experienced and highly motivated Design & Construction Project Manager with a specialty in Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) to help bring our campus spaces to life.
In this dynamic role, you’ll take the lead on FF&E projects from concept through installation, shaping environments where students learn, faculty innovate, and our community thrives. You’ll manage sourcing and procurement, coordinate seamless installations, support construction teams, and ensure warranty issues are handled smoothly and efficiently.
You’ll work closely with a wide range of partners across campus, including university leadership, faculty and staff, students, Facilities Management teams, Capital Project Managers, consultants, contractors, and vendors. Your ability to build strong relationships, problem‑solve creatively, and keep projects moving will be key to your success.

Essential Functions
- Leads multiple University Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) projects and supports construction initiatives. Directs design, sourcing, procurement, and installation activities.
- Manages warranty claims and resolves issues efficiently. Coordinates with university leadership, faculty, staff, students, Facilities Management personnel, Capital Project Managers, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manages all phases of construction, from planning to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery with support from others.
- Create, develop, and manage budget and financial reporting for assigned projects in coordination with administrative teams and client funding availability with oversight from management.
- Create and manage project schedules and monitor progress.
- Regularly communicates with stakeholders, coordinates with cross-functional project teams, ensures clear communication across all team members, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success.
- Coordinates with contractors, consultants, and campus stakeholders to meet institutional goals, building code compliance and safety best practices, master plan guidelines, and campus design and construction standards to include design reviews and inspections.
- Coordinates project teams, including consultants, contractors, and constituent groups, through project planning and execution providing guidance and resolving issues to ensure team efficiency and project success.

Minimum Qualifications
Based on experience and education, candidates will be considered for the following levels of Design & Construction Project Manager.
Level I:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Building Science, Interior Design, Engineering or related field AND 0 years of experience, OR
- Associate’s Degree AND 4 years of experience in project management, program management, construction, interior design, architecture, or engineering practices and principles
Level II:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Building Science, Interior Design, Engineering or related field AND 3 years of experience in project management, program management, construction, interior design, architecture, or engineering practices and principles, OR
- Associate’s Degree AND 7 years of experience in project management, program management, construction, interior design, architecture, or engineering practices and principles
- Level III :Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Building Science, Interior Design, Engineering or related field AND 5 years of experience in project management, program management, construction, interior design, architecture, or engineering practices and principles
- Level IV:Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Building Science, Interior Design, Engineering or related field AND 7 years of experience in project management, program management, construction, interior design, architecture, or engineering practices and principles. 2 years experience must be leading and managing large construction projects or programs.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications
Skills and Abilities
Level I:
This position requires a foundational understanding of design and construction project management principles, software, and best practices, including budget development and management, scheduling, contract procurement, and bid management.
Level II:
This position requires competency and understanding of design and construction project management, including budget development and management, scheduling, contract procurement, and bid management on various project types.
Level III :
This position requires skilled understanding of design and construction project management, including budget development and management, scheduling, contract procurement, and bid management on various project types.
Level IV:
This position requires advanced understanding of design and construction project management, including budget development and management, scheduling, contract procurement, and bid management on complex project types.
Minimum Technology Skills
Minimum License and Certifications
Level I-IV:
Valid Driver’s License from any state
Desired Qualifications
- Level I- III :Background or experience in interior design is preferred.
- Level IV:Background or experience in interior design is preferred.
- Upon hire, it is desired that the candidate would hold one of the following licenses/certifications:
- NCIDQ
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Registered Architect (RA)
- AICP
- Project Management Professional ( PMP )
