Architecture for London is seeking a studio assistant, ideally with architecture or design-related education or experience, to support our team across all aspects of a busy, collaborative practice.
We are an award-winning studio of architects and designers working on a range of private residential, and commercial projects across London. We work toward Passivhaus and EnerPHit standards of comfort and low energy, creating sustainable homes.
This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to gain experience, take on responsibility, and contribute to all aspects of studio life. We are looking for someone friendly, helpful, and proactive, with a willingness to get involved and support the wider team wherever needed.
Key responsibilities
Studio support:
- maintaining the day-to-day running of the studio, including ordering supplies, managing post, and answering calls
- supporting administrative processes such as invoicing, helping with new project enquiries, and coordinating CPDs
- managing and organising the materials/sample library
- preparing and editing documents, including appointment documents and fee proposals
- assisting with the organisation of studio events, trips and socials
Marketing:
- researching, writing, and editing content for various platforms
- assisting with awards submissions
- supporting website updates and social media activity
IT:
- acting as the first point of contact for IT queries within the team
- trouble-shooting basic issues with Mac, Windows, server systems
- setting up new user accounts and workstations
Key skills and experience
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate:
- a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the team
- strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- clear written and verbal communication skills
- a proactive and logical approach to problem-solving
- ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment
- experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- working knowledge of Adobe InDesign
- familiarity with Xero and WorkflowMax (beneficial but not essential)

Terms and conditions
The position is full-time and based on-site at our Farringdon studio, and we are looking for someone available to start on or around the 18th of May. The salary for this role will be within the range of £31,000-£33,000, commensurate with experience. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. We are an accredited Living Wage employer.
