Summary: senior interior design manager
As the Senior Interior Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading the design process from concept through to installation, delivering innovative and practical interior design solutions for our developments and projects. In addition to your design responsibilities, you will also assist the head of design in team management, including reviews, probationary assessments, scheduling, and overall team support on a day-to-day basis.
Location
Primarily office-based, with your main location at our head office in Rathbone Place, working during our standard office hours. Occasionally, you may need to work from or attend in-person meetings at various properties across London. The specific locations you’ll work from will depend on the requirements of your role.
Experience:
- a degree or equivalent in interior design/interior architecture.
- at least five plus years’ post-graduate experience with a minimum of five years in the luxury hospitality sector
- full proficiency in using CAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Suite
- a strong background in interior architecture with a high standard of technical ability and broad knowledge of materiality
- specifying FF&E with vast knowledge of suppliers, products and specialist finishes
- experience in procurement would be a plus but is not essential
- experience working on all aspects of project, through all RIBA stages of work, from concept to completion
- has delivered a hospitality project in the last 12 months
- an understanding of project programs and deadlines
- financial understanding of project costs and budget awareness

Key functions and responsibilities:
- collaborate with head of department and stakeholders to understand their design preferences, expectations, and priorities, and incorporate them into the design concepts and plans
- work closely with the head of department to execute the creative vision of the design schemes and projects, ensuring that they align with the overall brand strategy and objectives and meet development deadlines
- provide regular updates to the Head of Department and Stakeholders on the progress of projects, including design milestones, budgets, and timelines
- develop design concepts, space plans, and material selections
- collaborate with external consultants on feasibility and ensure building codes and regulations are adhered to
- assist the head of interior design with supporting and managing the interior design team across various projects
- provide guidance and mentorship to department
- contribute to setting the internal design standards and guidelines and ensure they are implemented by the team
- streamline processes and procedures to increase quality and efficiency
- create a positive work culture by promoting teamwork, open communication and recognition of team achievements
