Rose Uniacke is a designer and gallerist who runs a wide and growing portfolio of projects, both at home and internationally, working on everything from restoration and remodelling to new builds. The brand has three Pimlico Road shops: the editions shop, selling furniture both antique and modern; a fabric and paint shop; and a shop full of beautiful belongings, household objects, and luxury gifts. Alongside the design practice, and of enormous importance to Rose, is the brand’s highly respected arm of antique furniture and objects.
Role overview
Rose Uniacke is currently seeking a passionate and skilled designer to join its dynamic interior design studio. This role initially entails being responsible for the Aftercare of all our projects and offers the opportunity to work directly with senior interior designers and Rose assisting in the maintenance of various projects both in the UK and worldwide. Hours: full-time, Monday – Friday, 9 am – 6 pm
Location: Radnor Studio, 13 Radnor Walk, London, SW3 4BP
Experience
Minimum three to four years in interior/architectural design
Key responsibilities
You will play an integral part in providing support across various aspects of the design process. Your role will include, but is not limited to, the following:
- liaising directly with clients, contractors, consultants, and Rose
- attending site meetings as required
- arranging repairs
- sourcing replacement furniture, fabrics, and artwork
- compiling care manuals for completed projects
- ensuring archiving is up to date
- updating project schedules for any changes in specification
- invoicing for purchased items
- developing design schemes in keeping with the design style of the business, always with final approval prior to implementation
- undertaking administration on a project as necessary, including preparation of mood boards, procurement of samples, and supplier quotations
- working closely with the showroom and fabric teams to ensure the smooth flow of information between departments
- completing timesheets accurately and on time each week
- developing or maintaining a good knowledge and practical application of all creative software used in the studio.
- training in Estimac will be provided
Skills required:
- be organised, detail-oriented, and proactive
- have strong communication and design presentation skills
- have knowledge of products and materials
- work effectively to meet tight deadlines
- possess strong design sensibility and a good sense of composition
- have a strong work ethic
- be able to demonstrate good technical skills
- be a Mac user
- be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- be able to join the team as soon as possible and eager to get to work quickly
Qualifications required:
- degrees in a related field are preferred
- proficient in CAD drawings – preferably AutoCAD or able to pick up AutoCAD easily
- proficient in 3D modelling with SketchUp
- proficient in Photoshop
