Position Details
Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
Teach lab-based and online courses, support undergraduate research, and contribute to the enhancement of the Engineering Design Technology program through curriculum development, lab improvement, and participation in accreditation efforts (e.g., SACSCOC, ABET, ATMAE ).
This is a temporary position for one year only. Teaching the equivalent of 24 credit hours annually, roughly 12 credit hours per semester. Possibility of renewal, depends on funding availability.
Educational Requirements for the Position
An earned Masters degree, or ABD /PhD (preferred) by August 2026, in Engineering Technology with Design & Development emphasis, Engineering Design, Industrial Engineering with Engineering Design & Technology emphasis, Industrial/Engineering Technology with Product or Architectural design emphasis, Architecture/Architectural Technology or Engineering, or other closely related fields.
Experience Required for the Position
Desired areas of interest include product design and development, engineering design and technology, industrial design, manufacturing and production systems, architectural design, or other subjects related to engineering design and development. Excellent communication skills are required. Applicant must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Three years of design industry, college teaching experiences are preferred.
