Make&Place is looking for a dynamic, super-organised procurement manager with a passion for contextual, considered design and a love of working collaboratively with a talented team. The role is based in Clerkenwell and Barnes, London. Led by creative director Fiona Naylor, we are a team of architects, interior and furniture designers, project managers, fitters and installation experts who share a mission to make it easy and effortless for homeowners, investors and developers to achieve beautiful, enduring interiors. Born from collaboration, we are a partnership between award-winning interior architecture and design practice, Johnson Naylor, and M3 Design Development, specialists in the design, supply and installation of loose and fitted furniture. Together, with over 30 years of industry experience and a deep understanding of residential design, we provide a design-led approach and turnkey solution to furnishing modern apartment buildings – both apartments and residents’ amenities. You will be working alongside our team of FF&E designers and the interior architecture teams at M&P and Johnson Naylor on a range of projects at any one time – residential amenity areas/marketing suites/show apartments and Build to Rent Collections for apartments. The ability to organise your time and communicate well is essential as our projects require a high level of attention to detail at every stage.
You will have the following skills:
- deep industry knowledge of designers, furniture, dressing and suppliers and a keen interest in researching new products/fabrics/finishes, etc.
- strong knowledge of FF&E procurement within commercial/amenity projects
- ability to interpret the design language of a scheme and propose appropriate pieces at varying price points
- experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously
- excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- close attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
- ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- advanced budgeting and cost tracking skills – Ability to create and manage multiple budgets, programmes, ordering, delivery, installation logistics and invoice checking and approval. A knowledge of Fohlio would be an advantage. Excel and InDesign are essential
- manage a library of samples and source samples
- creating RAMS, OM’s, installation documents, managing change orders and cost adjustments and managing/resolving aftercare issues
- confident and experienced in liaising with furniture manufacturers and suppliers, logistics companies, specialist suppliers, e.g artwork, window dressing, fabric suppliers, building managers and clients.Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- excellent English language skills, both written and verbal
- experience of working on site on the installation of furniture and dressing, styling and photo shoots
