Cross Works is seeking computational designers and design technologists to join its team in London.
Applicants should have a solid background in architecture and urban design.
Applicants should expect to provide integral support to our architectural and urban designers/city planning projects, providing parametric workflows as well as urban and climatic analytics to support architectural and urban-planning decision making. In addition, applicants are required to have comprehensive knowledge of ESRI software – including components such as ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro.
For this role, you will need to be an efficient problem solver with great communication skills. You’ll be highly competent with the fundamentals of parametric design, urban analytics and GIS and be passionate about working on urban design, city-scale and regional-scale planning projects.
Essential skills and background:
- bachelor’s/master’s degree in architecture, urban design and/or GIS or computer sciences; other relevant qualifications will be considered
- expert user in Rhino and Grasshopper as a minimum
- excellent knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and Enterprise
- knowledge of Microsoft Power BI is a bonus
- fluent use of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications
- must have a passion for spatial data, and the role it can play in masterplanning and cities
- a willingness to learn new skills and innovate
Desirable skills (additionally, the following are a bonus):
- knowledge of Python, R or other coding languages is desirable
- experience using ArcPy (or other spatial packages) will be valuable
- experience developing applications and dashboards
- knowledge of CAD/BIM and their GIS integration
- knowledge of 3D visualisation software
- SQL/Oracle skills and understanding

This position requires working in an office environment in London (in Camden Town), five days per week.
